Biography

Dani Kranz heads the research department of the Tikvah Institut in Berlin and serves as the director of Two Foxes Consulting in Germany and Israel. She also acts as an adviser to the Federal Government Commissioner for Jewish Life in Germany and the Fight against Antisemitism, as well as to various foundations, museums, and NGOs. She is the president of Präsenzen – Netzwerk jüdische Gegenwartsforschung e. V. (Presences – Network for Research on Contemporary Jewry), a board member of the Association for the Social Scientific Study of Jewry (ASSJ), and a founding member of the Network of Jewish University Teachers (Netzwerk jüdischer Hochschullehrender, NJH).

Since returning to Germany from the United Kingdom in 2009, she has been advocating for the institutionalisation of Contemporary Jewish Studies and Israel Studies at university level. Her research covers a wide range of topics relating to contemporary Jewry, including migration, integration, ethnicity, memory cultures and politics, cultural heritage, and allosemitism in its various forms—antisemitism and philosemitism—as well as questions of law, statehood, political life, and organisational structures in relation to contemporary Jewish life.
