Biography

Olaf Glöckner, PhD, is a senior researcher at the Moses Mendelssohn Centre for European-Jewish Studies in Potsdam (MMZ), and a lecturer at the Historical Institute and the Department of Jewish Studies at Potsdam University. Glöckner’s main research concentrations are on Jewish migration, European Jewry after 1989/90, German-Israeli relations, and modern antisemitism.

Glöckner has worked and participated in several empirical studies on Jewish migration, Jewish education, and Jewish experiences with modern antisemitism, including  the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights surveys of antisemitism in 2012/13 and 2017/18. From 2021 to 2025 he was sub-project leader in the joint project 'ASJUST – Struggling with Antisemitism: The judiciary in Germany's handling of antisemitism,' funded by the German Ministry of Science.
