JPR Executive Director, Dr Jonathan Boyd, presented key research data on the contemporary British Jewish population to the staff at the Israel Embassy in London in October.
The presentation was designed to enhance the Embassy team’s understanding of key issues shaping Jewish life in the UK.
Dr Boyd began by examining essential demographic data, setting the UK Jewish population in its global context and looking at the drivers of population growth and decline in different geographical and denominational contexts. It went on to look at a range of issues, including enrolment levels in Jewish schools, changes in patterns of synagogue membership, antisemitism, attitudes towards Israel and Jewish community renewal and revitalisation.
