Educating about Israel in Britain

Educating about Israel in Britain

In partnership with Israel education specialists Makom, JPR is involved in a new project to map Israel education for young British Jews, in order to inform communal educational policy in this increasingly complex area.

JPR's expertise in research methods has been employed to shape the qualitative work of the programme, and to advise on data analysis. Following a series of focus group discussions in May with educational specialists and policy makers, JPR is now helping to develop the research findings which will be presented initially to a cross-communal advisory group including representatives from UJIA and other key Israel education providers. The project has been commissioned by Pears Foundation.

The mapping project explores what is currently going on in the field of Israel education in Britain, who is shaping the field, and the approaches being used. It is hoped that the work will help to inform the development of Israel education practice over the coming decade.
