  • The total population of Croatia on 1 January 2016 stood at 4,190,700. Its population declined by 34,600 in 2015. 
  • As of 1 January 2016, the core Jewish population of Croatia was estimated to be 1,700 (0.04 % of the wider population), and the enlarged Jewish population was estimated at 3000 (0.07 % of the wider population). 
  • An estimated 3,500 Croatians qualify for Israeli citizenship under the Law of Return. 
  • Most organised Jewish communal life is centred on Zagreb, but there are also communities in Dubrovnik, Split and a number of other towns.
